Job Description For Urban GIS Remote Jobs USA 2024

We are seeking a talented GIS Web Developer to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing web-based GIS applications and a strong understanding of GIS principles and data management. The GIS Web Developer will work closely with our team of GIS analysts and designers to create interactive maps and web applications that deliver valuable insights to our clients.

• Conduct quality assurance testing to ensure the accuracy and functionality of our web-based GIS application
• Develop and maintain web-based GIS applications using industry-standard tools and technologies
• Handle ETL process. 
• Update applications to accommodate new or changed data fields, adjusting location coding processes to streamline workflow without AIS integration.

• Enhance and maintain GIS systems, including the development of APIs for crash data retrieval and integration.
• Analyze Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data to identify spatial relationships or display results of analyses using maps, graphs, or tabular data
• Maintain or modify existing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases.
• Review existing or incoming data for accuracy, usefulness, quality, or completeness of documentation.
• Capture requirements using industry and enterprise standard geographic information system development frameworks and tools.
• Support the design, coding, testing, and debugging of programs of varying levels of complexity.
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design and potential impact while considering time and cost constraints.
• Assist customers with documentation, training, and usability efforts.
• Perform complex application problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging GIS technologies and trends to continuously improve our products and services
• Collaborate with GIS analysts and designers to integrate data and create meaningful visualizations

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of ETL Process
• Proficiency in .Net, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C##, Python and other web development languages
• Strong experience with ESRI ArcGIS products — ArcGIS, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Extensions
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), Microsoft Office programs, Microsoft Access knowledge is a plus
• Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
• Use excellent verbal and written communication skills to update team with progress reports and updates.
• Maintain and organize a variety of records, reports and files.
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks within multiple ongoing projects.
• Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast paced, challenging, complex environment.
